Summer school

Summer schools are a great way to find out more about what being a university student can be like. Some just last for a day but some last for a week and you can have the opportunity to stay in university accommodation and get a real feel for what it would be like to be a student.

While you are there you are given the opportunity to find out about what is involved in studying at university. This is done through a series of workshops, projects and other activities offered in different subjects. You could perform experiments in the labs, experience lectures in a lecture hall, produce videos, drama shows, magazines or presentations.

There is also the opportunity to meet students at the university, as they usually attend the summer school too - they are on hand to offer advice about what it is really like being a student - based on their own experiences. Activities are scheduled throughout the day but there are also opportunities to have lots of fun -including sports competitions, discos, quizzes, trips and a whole lot more !
